Aidan MARSDEN

 Aidan MARSDEN

Knockowen Road, Tullamore, Offaly / Longford

As we remember our father Aidan on the first anniversary of his passing on the 10th of May, Paul, Brian, Una and Eoin would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who offered condolences, comfort and support to us on our sad loss.

A special word of thanks to Dr David Bartlett GP, the nurses and staff of the haematology unit at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, in particular Dr Ger Crotty, Dr Cormac Jennings and their teams, and to all the medical staff that cared for Dad in recent years. We will be forever grateful to the staff in the ICU for the exceptional treatment and the caring and compassionate manner in which Dad was treated in his final hours.

Thanks to Fr Luke Ohiemi and Fr Patrick Murphy for the lovely way in which they concelebrated the funeral mass and to Karen Martin, Paul Skelton and Dad’s granddaughter Lucy, for the beautiful music. Thanks also to Phil O’Reilly, Undertaker, for his kindness, compassion and professionalism throughout the reposing and funeral.

Thanks to the members of Tullamore Golf Club and Golf Ireland who provided guards of honour. It was a fitting tribute to the work Dad did for golf locally and nationally.

To all who sent condolences, messages, mass cards and floral tributes, thank you. To those who called to our home, attended the wake and funeral, some of whom travelled long distances to be with us, we are so very grateful and appreciative. Also, sincere thanks to the fantastic group of family and friends who worked so hard at the house and were so generous with their time, allowing us to cater for the large crowds that attended.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our gratitude. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.

Aidan’s first anniversary mass will take place in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore at 11:30am on Sunday, 14th of May.
