Bernard (Barney) Hennessy

The death has occurred of Bernard (Barney) Hennessy of 11 Willow Park, Tullow Rd., Carlow and formerly of St Killian’s Crescent and Whitney Place, Carlow, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on September 1st, 2024, under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at The District Hospital, Carlow.
We, Barney’s family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who helped out in any way during his short illness and funeral. All those who called to the family, attended the funeral, who travelled long distances, who sent messages, flowers and cards of sympathy. Our sincere gratitude to all who cared for dad. We especially want to thank the nurses and carers and wonderful staff of the District Hospital Carlow  who gave great comfort, care and companionship to Dad and to all his family in his final days.
Thanks to Fr. Dillion and Fr. Dunphy who celebrated the Funeral Mass of our Dad and whose homily described the Dad and Friend that he was to all.

Thanks to Bernard and Clare for the beautiful music and singing in the chapel.

Thanks to Mark Carpenter Funeral Directors for their kindness, professional manner and for the dignified and respectful way in which they carried out their duties.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as
a token of our sincere and heartfelt gratitude. The kindness shown to us will always be remembered.

Barney - Loving father, father-in-law, grandad and great grandad. It gave us great comfort to hear everyones stories about him. He will remain with us always, in our hearts & memories. Barney's Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in Askea Church, Carlow on Saturday 28th September at 7pm.
