 Brian Hanley

Springfort, Montenotte, Cork

Acknowledgement and First Anniversary

On his first anniversary, the family of Brian Hanley of Springfort, Montenotte, would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our great loss.

We offer our sincere appreciation to the many friends, colleagues, neighbours and well-wishers who attended the removal, Mass and burial for your presence and support at such a difficult time.

For those who called, travelled long distances, sent cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations in Brian’s memory, we are truly grateful.

To the staff of CUH, particularly Dr Richard Bambury and Catherine Drake for their constant care and professionalism. For Dr. Susan McLaughlin, your assistance throughout Brian’s illness was truly appreciated.

Warmest thanks to all the wonderful staff of Marymount Hospice, especially of St Catherine’s ward, for the exceptional compassion, kindness and support shown to Brian and to us.

A special word of thanks to all of Brian’s friends and colleagues at Cork City Council, for their support during his illness, at the time of his funeral and in the months since. To his lifelong friend Kieran, for the many spins and coffee outings which always lifted Brian's spirits.

To Rev. Myles McSweeney of St Joseph’s Church and the musicians who celebrated the funeral Mass, with particular thanks to the players from Brian Dillons Hurling and Football club for the guard of honour which was a fitting tribute to a devoted member of the club, as player, coach and fervent supporter throughout his life.

Thanks to all at Jerh O’Connor’s Funeral Directors for their sensitivity and professionalism.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution is greatly appreciated. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
