Canice 'Ken' Doheny

 Canice 'Ken' Doheny

Ballinalacken, Ballinakill, Laois / Kilkenny

Ken’s family wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported and sympathised with us over the last few weeks.

Thank you for the Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, online condolences, phone calls, and messages.

We would like to thank the Gardai in Portlaoise and Castlecomer and the emergency services who looked after Ken after his accident.

We wish to express our appreciation to Fr. Eamonn O’Gorman for his comforting words, spiritual supportand prayers in the days after Ken’s death. We would like to thank Monsignor Ryan from Castlecomer who concelebrated the Requiem Mass. We would also like to say thank you to Julie, Alison and Pat for theirpreparations for his beautiful Mass.

Thanks to Coady’s Funeral Directors, for the professionalism, care and understanding with which they cared for Ken and us during a very stressful time.

Thank you to Eamon Healy and the gravediggers for preparing Ken’s final place of rest.

We would like to thank Ken’s former colleagues in the Daughter’s of Charity, Lisnagry for their lovely messages of support which were a great comfort to us.

A special word of thanks to our extended family both at home and abroad, our treasured neighbours and friends. Although these unprecedented times have disrupted traditional funeral rituals, you still found ways to make our loss more bearable. Sincere thanks for the gifts of food, flowers and for your numerous kind-hearted gestures. We are very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful Community. Thank you for lining the roads from Ballinalacken to Ballyouskill. It was a very moving tribute to him and a huge source of comfort to us on the lonely journey to the Church.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
