Colm Walsh (Jnr.)

 Colm Walsh (Jnr.)

Harold's Cross, Dublin

The family of the late Colm Walsh Jnr. wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness and support shown to us during and following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours, relatives and everyone who visited our home, attended the wake, the Mass and the Crematorium.

A special word of thanks, to the water polo players/sea swimmers who formed a proud guard of honour for Colm as he came home to Harold’s Cross. Our sincere thanks to those who travelled from far and near to attend his wake and funeral; to all who phoned, sent Mass cards, messages of condolences and who gave donations to the Friends of St. Luke’s in Rathgar. We would also like to sincerely thank Ricky from the Harold House, Deirdre and Mick from the Two Sisters Pub, the staff from Kavanagh’s Pub (Dorset Street), the staff from CYM (Terenure), Margaret of Gray’s Flowers (Grafton Street), June, Nuala & Larry from the Business Depot.  Thank you to An Gárda Síochána for their traffic control services.

We offer our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Fr. Joe Kennedy for his very thought-provoking ceremony. Thank you to Ashling and Karl for the solemn music and song during Mass, and to all who participated in readings, prayers of the faithful, Colm’s nieces and nephew for the offertory gifts and the ministers of the Eucharist. A special thanks to Keith O’Connor for his beautiful eulogy.

We will be forever grateful to the staff at St. Vincent’s hospital & St. Luke’s Hospital especially Dr. Charles Gilham, Dr. David Fennelly, Mr. Alan Molloy, Hazel Murray, Ursula Kelleher, Barbara Hamilton, Jacqueline, Fiona and Dympna from Ward D in St. Luke’s and the many other wonderful care givers who looked after Colm. We cannot express enough our gratefulness for the superior level of care Colm received throughout his short illness.

Thank you to Brian McElroy Funeral Directors who carried out the funeral arrangements with such care, respect and dignity from the beginning to the end.

The family especially want to thank Colm’s wide circle of friends from the swimming community especially members of the Clontarf SC, Half Moon SC, North Dublin SC and Guinness’s SC. Their presence and the stories of Colm made this very sad time a little easier with the beautiful memories they shared of their time with Colm.

As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Colm’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 3rd November at 4pm in St. Paul of the Cross, Mount Argus Church.
