Dan Mulligan

 Dan Mulligan

Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, Longford

The family of the late Dan Mulligan would like to express gratitude to all those who sympathized and supported us during our recent bereavement.

Sincere thanks to those who phoned, visited, sent messages of sympathy, flowers and Mass cards.

Thanks to Gerry McCabe, Funeral Director, for his professionalism, compassion and guidance during funeral preparations.

To Fr. McKeon for his prayers at home and his celebration of the Funeral Mass, thank you.

To all those who helped before, during and after the funeral, including the gravediggers, singers, coffin bearers and those who lined the route and also to the current and former members of the Irish Defence Forces who added so much to the occasion, we truly appreciate your help.

To the nurses, doctors and all the staff of Cavan General Hospital, we thank you for the care given to Dan during his recent time in hospital and to Dr. Moran, Maura Kiernan and all those who cared for him during his illness, we will always be thankful for all you did.

We are extremely grateful to all Dan's family, friends and neighbours, who supported him in many different ways during his illness.  Every gesture, no matter how small was greatly appreciated.

As so many have been supportive to Dan and his family, it would be extremely difficult to individually thank everyone.   We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere gratitude.

Dan's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Colmcille's Church, Aughnaclife, on Thursday October 28th at 7.30pm.

You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
