As we remember Denis with love at his first anniversary, his wife Clare and daughter Megan, along with Denis’ brothers and sister Andrew, Mairéad and David, would like to express their thanks for the many kindnesses shown by friends, family and neighbours throughout this difficult time.

Thank you to all who attended Denis’ wake, funeral service and burial, who sent Mass cards, condolences and flowers, and shared a kind word with us. Your support will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Tom Lawless of Lawless Funeral Directors for the compassion and care he showed to Denis’ family. Thanks also to the gravediggers in Clonminch and especially to Billy for all his help. Thank you to Roy Cobbe and all at Tullamore RFC who attended the funeral.

Thank you to Fr. Fergal Cummins for the beautiful funeral Mass and eulogy which celebrated Denis’ life.

A special thank you to the doctors who looked after Denis for many years: Dr. David Bartlett, Dr. Kanthi Perera, Prof. Stephen Connolly and Prof. Timothy Lynch. 

Denis is deeply missed every single day and we live in hope of a happy reunion with him in heaven.

It would be impossible to thank everyone for their support individually. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Denis’ first anniversary Mass will be held on 23 July 2023 at 1 pm in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore. All are welcome.
