03/01/1956 - 01/01/2023
Today, on the First Anniversary of the day that Donal left us, his wife Maureen and family Darragh, Leanne, Barry, Laura, Maria, Louise and Aisling, would like to acknowledge everyone who sympathised with us on our sad loss. Thank you to all our friends and neighbours who provided emotional and practical support during this very difficult and heartbreaking time. A special word of thanks to Donal's sisters, Eileen and Noreen, for their kindness and support during Donal's illness.
To those who phoned, messaged, posted condolences online, attended Mass, sent Mass cards and letters, we are forever grateful. It is heart-warming to hear and read all your comforting words and to know how much Donal was loved. As Donal's funeral cortege travelled from our home to the Church many neighbours and friends followed in their cars, and many more lined the route - it was a great tribute to Donal, so thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
A special word of thanks to our wonderful Public Health Nurse, Regina Lowney, who went above and beyond the call of duty to look after Donal in his final days. Regina, your gentle and loving care carried all of us through and we will never forget the comfort and calm that you brought to our family.
To Dr Jacqui Glisson and the team at the North Road Surgery, to Annette and the staff at Cross Pharmacy, and to the West Cork Palliative Care Team, we thank all of you for your support and kindness during Donal's illness.
To Paul Harrington of Harrington's Funeral Home, thank you for taking care of all the arrangements in such a sensitive and professional manner.
To Catherine and Delia who sang so beautifully at the Mass, thank you for being so accommodating. Donal truly loved his music and would have been very pleased with the choice of songs and hymns.
To Lyndsey at Paradise Flowers, thank you for providing the beautiful wreaths and floral tributes.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this heartfelt acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Goodbye Is Not Forever,
Goodbye Is Not The End.
It Simply Means We Love You
Until We Meet Again.
