First Anniversary
&
Acknowledgement
The family of the late Jane O’Leary, who died on the 27th February 2023 would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on our loss.
On this first anniversary, her sons Daniel and Ruaidhrí wish to acknowledge the great effort people made to be with us. People travelled from all over Ireland and even flew in from abroad. We are so grateful for the time people took to send us beautiful cards, letters and messages. An extra special mention must be given to the large community that travelled down from Kilmihil, Co Clare. You all shared such loving memories of Jane from our childhood which brought us great comfort and joy.
We met many people we did not know, nurses that trained and worked with Jane, those she met through recovery, yogis and many many hillwalkers. We thank you all for sharing your heartfelt and honest stories. We send our best wishes and thoughts to all those who continue in recovery.
A word of thanks to O’Connors Funeral Home on Shandon Street for your guidance and advice throughout, always professional, courteous and kind. You provided us with a space to celebrate Jane’s life, so close to the river Lee and in the city centre which she loved so dearly. There was a lovely feeling and energy at the removal, and we are grateful to you for facilitating us. Also, to Cork Flower Studio for your beautiful flowers and The Island Crematorium for their services. It is impossible to thank everyone individually, but we are grateful for all the support we received.
This week, we invite you to share in what Jane loved best, have a coffee, take to the hills, swim in the ocean, surround yourself with trees to keep Jane in your heart. We will endeavour to keep the happy memories alive and embrace the beautiful energy she shared with all those she met throughout her lifetime.
In the words of her grandson Oscar,
“I miss her smile and how much fun she was.”
