The heartbroken family of the late Jeremy Burke of Kilcullen Co. Kildare who died suddenly and unexpectedly on the 22nd of January 2023 aged 27, would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them on their tragic loss. Jeremy's loss has left a void that can never be filled however the kindness of people is to be commended. 

 

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, service and burial and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.

 

A special word of thanks to; 

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Eithne Colin and Conor thank you for bringing our beautiful Jeremy home safely to Ireland. Thank you Conor for supporting Jeremy's Mum Louise and Grandmother Rita in the immediate hours and days after Jeremy's passing in Toronto. We are forever grateful to the wonderful Bell family for all you have done for us and what you continue to do. 

 

To Jeremy's employer Mr. Sean Egan for his support and help in Toronto. For organising a beautiful memorial service for Jeremy which made space for Jeremy's friends workmates and the Irish community to come together and mourn the great loss and suddenness of Jeremy's passing. 
 

To Sinead McCauley Jeremy's Godmother for travelling from Boston USA, immediately to be with Jeremy's Mother. To Barry Comerford for the immediate organisation of a Go Fund Me. 

 

To Fr. Gary Darby, Fr. Martin Harte and all the pastoral team in Kilcullen parish church for Jeremy's beautiful funeral mass, rosary in our home and the kindness shown to us at such a difficult time. Thank you Fr. Darby for your ongoing spiritual direction.

To P.J Willis Funeral Director thank you for your professionalism and sensitivity all through Jeremy's journey home from Toronto, his wake funeral and burial. To Ward Funeral directors in Toronto thank you for taking such good care of Jeremy while he rested in your beautiful Funeral Home. 

To all the neighbours in Bishop Rogan Park who stood in the rain managing traffic and directing people to our home the night of Jeremy's wake. To the neighbours organising the catering, our home and taking charge of things when the family couldn't, we are so thankful.

 

To the members of Kilcullen GAA for the guard of honour the morning of Jeremy's removal. To all the businesses, public houses and the Gardai who closed their premises as a mark of respect to Jeremy as his funeral cortège passed through his home town.  To Shane McGrath and team for the beautiful music at Jeremy's removal and burial. 

 

To those in Perth Australia who cared for Jeremy's heartbroken cousins while Jeremy's Aunt and Uncle travelled home for Jeremy's funeral. 

 

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. To those who continue to support us on our grief journey every day a heartfelt huge thank you.

The First Anniversary Mass for Jeremy will be held on Sunday the 21st of January in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare. All welcome.
