John Heffernan

 John Heffernan

Tramore, Waterford

We think of things you used to say, and all that you would do.
At some point, every single day, our thoughts will turn to you.
No matter how life changes, no matter what we do,
A special place within our hearts is always kept for you.

John's wife Joanne, son John, daughter Louise, son in law Dave and the extended family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all who offered condolences on our recent heart-breaking bereavement of our beloved husband, father grandfather of the late (John Heffernan) of (Coolnacupogue, Tramore) who died on (03/11/2023). We thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the heartbreaking unexpected sudden loss of John.

We offer our heartfelt Thanks to the many friends, relatives, neighbours, work colleagues, extended family, and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, Mass service and burial and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. To all our nieces and nephews that travelled long distances from around the world, those who sent floral tributes, Mass cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks to the doctors and nurses (Dr Paula Calvert (Oncology) & the palliative care team) for their kindness and respect shown to John at all times while at UHW (University Hospital Waterford). To all of those in the Solas Centre, for supporting John throughout the past 2 years. To Dr. Nolan at Tramore Medical Clinic, who always treated John with great care.

To the members of Fenor GAA, who were great assistance in managing the flow of traffic during the night of the wake wake and funeral, and also to neighbours who offered dwellings for parking. The family are truly grateful for the kind gestures.

Falconers Funeral Directors, for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements. Their guidance and support was a massive comfort to the family at this very difficult time and is truly appreciated.

We would like to thank Fr. Richard  O'Halloran for a beautiful service. Thank you to all our family who participated in the Mass, and a special mention to Seanie for singing one of John's favourite songs during the Mass, and also to his his brother Colm for the way in which he perfectly captured John's personality and nature while reading the eulogy. Also, to the soloist singer, Davy Flynn, who sang so beautifully.

To many of John's work colleagues from Ball and Honeywell, but also to his many friends and team mates from throughout the years, who called to the house during the wake and funeral service. It was very touching to see how well respected John was in all circles in which he was known.

We would like to thank O'Neills Bar and all the O'Neill family for their hospitality and support following the funeral service.

To his great friends (The Numb-nuts) and also his close friend Nicky who were always by his side, providing John with great comfort & distraction in the form of a chat and a bit of craic. You were all such a big part of John's life, and he would have been proud of the support that you provided the family after his passing.

To all of our family, the Heffernans & the Powers, there are no words to thank you for everything you did for John during the past 2 years, and for us a family since his passing. John was such a loved & important member of both families and you all meant the world to him.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.
