John J. McCONWAY

 John J. McCONWAY

Whitehall, Tullamore, Offaly / Ballyvary, Mayo

On the first anniversary (18th November, 2021) of John’s death, Mary and his family, wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us, attended the funeral Mass or watched online.

We are most grateful to those who sent flowers, cards, letters, online messages, texts, phone calls and took time to remember him in their prayers, as well as those who made charitable donations to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association https://imnda.ie/

To our extended families, neighbours and friends, who despite the limitations of the Covid-19 pandemic, gave practical help through many kind gestures, all of which were greatly appreciated.

We wish to thank Tullamore GAA members for their guard of honour, in a moving tribute to John. We much appreciate piper Pat Nolan for his music as John’s cortège passed enroute to the church and cemetery.

A special thank you to Fr. Fergal Cummins for supporting our family and for the beautiful funeral Mass. To Phil O’Reilly, Funeral Director, for his professional and dignified funeral arrangements.

Finally, we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the medical staff involved in John’s care, the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, Home Instead, the speech and language therapist, the occupational therapist, and the palliative care team and district nurses in Tullamore. Their compassion and support in the last months of John’s illness will never be forgotten.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please take this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

Mass will be offered for your intentions.

The first Anniversary Mass for John will take place in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, at 10 a.m., Friday, 18th November.
