Acknowledgement from the family of the late John Joseph Fearon (Johnny Jinks) - RIP
We, the family of the late John Fearon, would like to thank all those who sympathised with us on the recent loss of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle. Your comforting messages, kind gestures and heartfelt condolences have provided us with strength during this difficult time.
Thank you to all the many people who attended the wake, funeral and burial, from near and far, to pay their respects to John. We especially appreciated all the fond memories and stories shared.
To our extended family, friends, neighbours, local shops, hotels and other businesses who brought food and refreshments to our home during the wake - we are forever grateful. To our family and friends, who prepared the house for the wake and to Martin McKenna, Dromintee Community Centre, the Carrickdale Hotel and An Tain Cafe and Bar for providing equipment - we thank you.
Thank you to Fr Seamus White, for conducting a very special and personal requiem mass for John. To the sacristan, Paul Carson, for his help, and to Eamon Murphy, for his recording and live-streaming of the mass. To Paddy Byrne, for providing sound outside the chapel and at the graveyard, and to Brian McClelland for organising drone footage of John’s last trip up through Jonesborough. Sincere thanks to the many coffin bearers, who ensured John was fittingly carried through the village and to John’s great friend, Aidan Phillips (Brolly), who led friends in the digging of John’s grave.
Special thanks to Colm Murphy and the St Paul’s Senior Choir for the beautiful music at the mass. Thanks to Mary McMahon, Catriona McCartan and Marian Litter for organising Guards of Honour from St Paul’s and Jonesborough Primary School. Further thanks to Dromintee GAC also for their Guard of Honour.
Thank you to Terry Mulkerns, our cousin Michelle Fearon, and other Mulkerns’ staff, for the exceptional food and service they provided after the funeral. We’d also like to thank the staff of the Gap o’ the North Pub, and others who lent a helping hand, for their hard work during the wake and funeral. John would have been very appreciative.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Dr Giby, Meigh Surgery staff, Richard Garvey, Meigh Pharmacy staff, Daisy Hill staff in Male Medical and the High Dependency Unit and Doctor Mitchell of the City Hospital for their time, attention, care and compassion to John during his short illness.
A massive thank you to Sean and Michael McCreesh Funeral Directors for the personal, dignified and professional way in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. We are forever grateful.
