Acknowledgement & 1st Anniversary

Died February 29th, 2020

As we lovingly remember Katrina (pre-deceased by her father John) on her First Anniversary, her husband Victor; mother Breda; siblings Fiona, Niamh, Orla, Daniel and Tara; mother-in-law Mary; brothers-in-law John, Paul, James and Tim; sisters-in-law Martha, Celine and Maria; nieces and nephews and extended family wish to express their gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss.

We will be forever thankful to the many friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, service and burial, shared great stories and memories, and provided emotional and practical support for us during this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, brought refreshments and made tea, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful. And thank you to all who supported us in the past year. To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable.

We would like to thank everyone for their love and friendship of Katrina during her life, especially the many close friends and family who provided daily support and care to Katrina while she was sick.

Thank you to all of the healthcare professionals who took such good care of Katrina during her illness, including her GP Dr. Fiona O'Mahony and the staff at the Innishannon Medical Centre, her oncologist Dr. Derek Power and the staff of St. Therese's oncology ward at the Mercy Hospital, her social worker Mary Davis, the palliative care nurses who took care of Katrina at home, and all the staff at Marymount Hospice. Thanks to Canon Donal Roberts, Father Joe O'Mahony, and all the priests and sacristans of Macroom parish for their prayers and support, Billy and the staff at Fitzgeralds' Funeral Services for their kindness, professionalism and guidance, the gravediggers, Garda Donal O'Donovan for assisting with the traffic during the funeral, and Clodagh O'Sullivan for the beautiful music.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually, so please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

A Mass will be held for Katrina on Monday March 1st at 10am in St. Colman's Church, Macroom. Mass may be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/macroom.

Always in our thoughts, Forever in our hearts

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I did not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
