The family of the late Mary Fitzsimons, Kells Road, Collon, Co. Louth who died on 24th September 2019 would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them on their great loss of Mary who fought a long and brave battle against an illness which took her from us so early.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, relatives, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, service and burial and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations, rest assured that we are truly grateful.
A special word of thanks to the staff of the Lourdes Hospital Oncology Unit and Dr Aoiveen Mathews GP who all cared so devotedly for Mary over a long period. Also, to the staff of the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre, Drogheda for their unstinting help to Mary and all the family during her illness and after her passing.
The family wish to thank Fr John O’Leary for a beautiful and compassionate funeral service and Mary Gantly and Collon Church Choir for their contribution. To Mattock Rangers CLG for kind use of their facilities and to the staff of Watters of Collon for serving refreshments.
A special word of thanks to Paddy Watters Undertakers for their sympathetic handling of the funeral arrangements and to the volunteers who assisted so ably with traffic control in managing the huge volume of sympathisers who visited to pay their respects to the family at Mary’s wake.
To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
The First Anniversary Mass for Mary will be held on Sunday, 20th Sept 2020, at 11am in Church of Mary Immaculate Conception, Collon. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions numbers attending are limited.
