ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND FIRST ANNIVERSARY

In Loving Memory of Maureen whose First Anniversary occurs on 3rd July, 2021.

As we lovingly remember Maureen on her First Anniversary her sons, Michael, Donal, Jim, daughters, Liz and Mary, her sister Kitty, together with our families would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all who sympathised with us and offered their support during this very sad and difficult time.

Due to COVID restrictions many relatives, friends and neighbours were unable to attend the funeral, but we were aware that you were with us in spirit.  Thank you to those at home and abroad who watched the funeral Mass online and to those who came to the church graveyard.

We thank you most sincerely for the floral tributes, Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages of condolences, telephone calls and most of all for your support since Mam’s passing.

A special thank you to Rev. John Kingston, P.P and Fr. Noel O’Sullivan for his lovely Mass and personal homily, and for the support that you gave to us throughout the funeral.  Thank you also to Karen O’Donovan for her beautiful singing and to Bolster’s Undertakers for their care and professionalism.

Thank you to those who cared for Mam at home with us and we would also like to offer our sincere gratitude to Maureen O’Donovan & the wonderful staff of Carechoice, Clonakilty, who offered great attention and kindness to Mam throughout her time there.  A special mention to Dr. Patrick Murphy, Bandon Medical Centre who cared for Mam for many years and to Mary and staff of Haven Pharmacy Scannells (especially Sandra) who always looked after her needs with great respect and kindness.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement of our gratitude and appreciation.  The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

She always leaned to watch for us
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe,
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget,
And so we think that where she is
She must be watching yet.
Waiting ‘til we come home to her
Anxious if we are late
Watching from Heaven’s window
Leaning from Heaven’s gate.
