Bernadette and family, wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us on the recent sad passing of Michael. We are most grateful to those who sent flowers, numerous cards, letters, phone calls, texts and online messages or took time to remember him in their prayers.
To the Irish Republican prisoners in Portlaoise and Maghaberry Gaols for their kind expressions of sympathy. To our extended families, kind neighbours and friends, who despite the limitations presented in this current climate of a pandemic, managed to make their support for us felt, through many kind gestures, all of which were greatly appreciated.
In particular, we wish to thank all the people who stood along the roadside and through the village of Blackrock in a beautiful and moving tribute to Michael, as his cortège passed enroute to the Church. Also to those who stood outside the Church, both during the service and at the burial, in line with Covid restrictions.
A special thank you to Fr. Keenan for supporting our family and for the beautiful funeral Mass.
To Pat and Declan for the lovely music, and to Tony for the graveside oration, which meant so much to us. To Dixon’s Funeral Directors for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.
Finally, we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the medical staff involved in Michael’s care throughout the past 6 years. In particular, the Lourdes Hospital palliative care team, whose support in the last months of Michael’s life was much appreciated. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please take this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude and the holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered up for your intentions.
The Month's Mind Mass for Michael will take place on Saturday, 6th February, at 6.30p.m. and can be viewed on line by clicking on the following link www.churchservices.tv/haggardstown
