Oliver (Ollie) ROCHE

 Oliver (Ollie) ROCHE

Lawcus, Stoneyford, Kilkenny

26th June 2022 was the first anniversary of Oliver’s passing. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude  and acknowledge with deep appreciation all those who sympathised with us on our very sad loss.

Our thanks to all our extended families, relations, friends, amazing neighbours, the community of Stoneyford and surrounds, Carrickshock GAA, Kilkenny Bord na nÓg, Stoneyford Soccer Club, Kate O’Grady Golf Society, Allan Cullen Catering, Bríd and Fred Malzard, Michael Raggett and Oliver’s work colleagues, those who travelled long distance, sent floral tributes, cards, messages of condolences on RIP.ie and telephoned, those who managed the parking and the flow of traffic during the wake and funeral, who helped and supported us, prior to and after the funeral, in so many different ways we are really appreciative.

To friends of Aaron in Perth and Western Swans GAA who took control and got him home. To Loren and Caitlin’s many friend who took care of them and who still do, a huge thank you.

To family and friends who are still taking care of us, we can’t thank you enough.

Shane and Sammy Johnston, thank you for your sensitive and professional handling of the arrangements. Thank you to Fr. Liam Cassin for all his help throughout a very difficult time and continuous support.

A proud guard of honour was formed by Oliver’s work colleagues from Raggett Homes, Stoneyford Soccer Club, Carrickshock GAA Club, neighbours, friends, pupils of Stoneyford National School and the staff of Coláiste Éamann Rís Callan, who lined the road from our home to Oliver’s final resting place in St. Brendan’s Churchyard, Stoneyford, it showed what high esteem Oliver was held in.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for you intentions.

Loved and greatly missed by his wife Catherina and children Aaron, Loren and Caitlin.

For the kindly thought you had in offering your sympathy in our loss,
For approaching us, and by just being there it helped, even a little, to ease this pain.
Even the offer of a shoulder to cry on is a consolation in times of sorrow and grief, or the
Heartfelt sympathy in your handclasp can bring a measure of warm gratitude and relief.
Perhaps your sympathy was wordless and only showed in your eyes.
Because you too know the grief that is felt when a loved one dies.
