Patricia Donnellan

 Patricia Donnellan
(née Geoghegan)

Merval Park, Clareview, Limerick

On the occasion of Patricia’s First Anniversary on March 5th 2021, her family would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who offered us support, sympathy and friendship over the last year. Patricia was a person filled with kindness, generosity and love. We are very grateful for the support of so many wonderful friends, neighbours and past colleagues of Patricia’s at St. John’s Hospital, Limerick and at the Hunt Museum. Patricia’s life was honoured by a beautiful funeral and Mass. We very much appreciate the support of so many people who could not attend Patricia’s funeral as this was the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, and we were blessed to be able to show our love for her in a manner which has since been denied to many because of Covid 19 restrictions. Thank you to those who sent Mass cards, letters, messages, flowers, who prayed with us and who shared many beautiful memories of Patricia’s life. Our thanks to the staff of the Galway Clinic who cared so well for Patricia in the weeks before she passed away. A very special thanks to Mary Keane Storey, Stephen Storey, and the wonderful staff of Riverdale House Nursing Home, Ardnacrusha, County Clare who looked after Patricia with tremendous tenderness, compassion and dignity in her final days. Thank you to Fr. Martin Crean, O.S.A., Patricia’s lifelong friend, for administering the last rites to Patricia at Riverdale House and for concelebrating her funeral Mass, together with Fr. Des. McAuliffe, P.P., Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Limerick. Thank you to Rhonwen Hayes Geoghegan and Colette Davis for the beautiful music at Patricia’s funeral Mass. We also extend our thanks to Comdt. Caroline Burke, Aide de Camp to An Taoiseach, and to our extended family and friends, many of whom travelled from afar in Ireland and abroad to be with us at Patricia’s funeral Mass. Our sincere thanks to John Thompson and his staff at Christopher Thompson and Sons, Undertakers, Limerick who guided us through those difficult days with such care and sensitivity. Patricia was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is deeply missed by her husband, Michael, her daughters, Isabel Treacy and Cathy Donnellan, her son, Patrick Donnellan, her sister, Isabel Hendrick and her brothers, Brian, Kevin, Séamus and Michael Geoghegan, the extended Geoghegan and Donnellan families and her many friends. As it is not possible to thank each of you individually, the Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
