We, the family (Ann, Oliver, Áine & Ciara) of our dear son and brother Patrick Smyth, Ganderstown, Clogherhead, Drogheda, Co. Thank you to everyone who called to our family home, to the hundreds of people who weathered the storm (Storm Betty) on the day of Patrick’s Wake, to everyone who attended Patrick’s Funeral Mass, in person or via Webcam, and to everyone who attended Patrick’s Month’s Mind. Thank you to all our families, neighbours, friends and community for all of your help, support and kindness both before and since Patrick’s passing, we would not have been able to manage without you. To all of Patrick’s beautiful friends, their families, to the staff and students of Callystown National School, Clogherhead, Scoil Uί Mhuirί, Dunleer and University College Dublin, your kindness and support was, and continues to be, a great support to us all.
Our heartfelt thanks to Patrick’s Oncology Team, all the staff on St. Anne’s Ward at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin and to the Palliative & Occupational Therapy Teams both in Dublin and Drogheda. The dignity, care and respect shown to Patrick will never be forgotten.
Thank you to Fr Martin McVeigh for a beautiful Funeral Mass and Month’s Mind Mass, and also for his support since Patrick’s passing. To Declan Dunne for his wonderful singing during Patrick’s Mass and to his dear friends Clarice, Siobhan and James who sang and played guitar for Patrick as he left the church. Thank you also to Michael O’Reilly and his team at Paddy Gerrard Undertakers for their kindness and dignified handling of Patrick’s funeral arrangements.
There are so many people we would like to thank, and we are sorry if we have not mentioned everyone here. Please know that you will always be remembered and appreciated. On our behalf and on Patrick’s, we thank you for your kindness, love and support - it will never be forgotten.
