Philip's beloved wife Marie, and their children, Joseph, Lavena, Philip Jnr and Tori, his grandchildren, and all the family, wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation each and every person who expressed sympathy during our recent heartbreaking loss.
Thank you to all those who travelled from near and far to attend the wake/funeral, along with those who joined us online. Thanks to all who phoned, sent texts, Mass cards, letters and floral wreaths, those who left condolences on RIP.ie, and those who kept us in their prayers.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many wonderful neighbours and friends who provided emotional and practical support to us all throughout Philip's illness and over the wake/funeral.
To John Keenan and his friends in Aughrim GAA who did great work managing the traffic during the wake. Seán Brady Woodfab, John Horan, Tom Healy and Mick O Rourke for all their help with getting the field ready for parking.
To Aughrim and Rathnew GAA for the guards of honour, thank you, he would have been so proud to see so so many people out in their colours.
A sincere thank you to Dr Emer Hanrahan and her onlcology team, St Ann's Day Ward, and the nursing staff at St Vincent's Hospital. The Community Palliative nurses - Wicklow Hospice, Roberta and Cáit, PHN., Tierneys Pharmacy, and all of the staff in Westmount Clinic Wicklow, especially his friend Dr Joe Keena. The care and kindness you showed us all was appreciated beyond words, always treating him with the utmost dignity and respect.
A special word of thanks to Fr Diarmuid Byrne for his house calls, and beautiful funeral mass. Thanks also to Monsignor Fr. Brendan Byrne who led us in prayer at the house also and remembered Philip in his prayers.
Special thanks to William and Paul Byrne, Byrnes Funeral service, for their empathy, advice and professionalism. Liam Kinsella for the beautiful singing and music in the church. And to Colin and all the staff in Murphys Hotel Tinahely for their hospitality.
Philip was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him, he has left us all a lifetime of memories to cherish. One of life's finest gentlemen. Y. N. W. A.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.
Philip's Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 12th May, at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Church, Aughrim. Mass will also be live-streamed on https://aughrimparish.com/.
