Regina’s brothers, Gearóid, Eugene, and John, sister Cathy, brother-in-law Ciaran, sisters-in-law Marie, Margaret and Eithne, all of her nieces and nephews and grandnephew Fionn, wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the blanket of love and support that enveloped us during the sad days following Gi’s death.
The kindness that was shown to us by our wonderful neighbours (both young and old), Regina’s Tandooris and our many, many friends will never be forgotten. From cups of tea to dinners, fires lit and hugs given, nothing was left to chance. Everything was done before we even knew it was needed.
To Michelle, Breda, Paul, Pauline, Carmel, Sandra, Patricia, Peig and Áine who helped us keep Regina in her own home, right to the end, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
To the amazingly dedicated and kind medical staff who cared for Gi on that sad morning, especially Patricia and Pauline, we express our deepest appreciation. The wonderful E.D., and Intensive Care staff, especially Dr. Orlaith and Fiona who treated Gi with such care and respect (while doing their very best for us, as Gi’s family) will always be remembered.
The community of Partry came out in force for Regina. Our sincere thanks to The Community Council, the traffic stewards, Rosaleen in The Lough Inn and all the teachers and pupils who stood in silence as Regina passed the school. Regina would have been very proud of the efforts that were made, as were the whole family.
To the many people who visited our home, attended the removal or Mass, telephoned, sent cards or messages, we send Christmas blessings and hope you have lots of happy moments during the festive season ahead.
Our thanks to Fr. Jarlath for making everyone smile before and during the Mass which was beautifully celebrated by him and concelebrated by our dear friend Canon Des Grogan, assisted by Fr. Farragher and Fr. Costello. The musicians especially John and Ciara, made it even more special with their very poignant and beautifully sung choices of music.
Kevin and Cathy O Toole, our funeral directors, accommodated us in every way possible, as only true friends can. To them and the very kind people in Shannon Crematorium, we express our gratitude.
Finally, to our extended families at home and abroad, ours and Gi’s many friends’ and neighbours, especially Regina’s Tandooris (and her very patient chauffeur) who have been unconditionally there for Gi and all of us over the last few years - MÍLE MÍLE BUÍOCHAS.
A special Mass will be said for your intentions.
Smile when you think of Regina this Christmas.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Regina will take place at 10am on Sunday the 17th of December in St Mary’s Church, Partry followed by interment in Tourmakeady Cemetery at 2.15pm
Sleep in Heavenly peace Gi. We love you.
