Acknowledgement for the late Rita Gunning (nėe Larkin) of Belmont / Eliza Lodge Nursing Home, Cor Na Mona & Clonboniff,  A Month's Mind memorial mass will be offered on Sunday, 22nd September, at 12pm in St. Patrick & St. Saran's Church, High Street, Belmont.   May Rita's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

 

Rita’s family and sister Nuala Kelly (nėe Larkin) would like to express our heartfelt thanks to those who extended condolences and who sympathised with us on our recent loss. Rita was predeceased by her husband Jack and their infant son Camillus. 

 

Sincere thanks for the care and kindness by all the staff in the Eliza Lodge Nursing Home who were so good to Rita especially Devika (Director of Nursing),  Aileen (Administrator), Peggy and all the nurses, Deeane (Chaplain) all the Health Care Assistants, Catering and Laundry staff and to those we don’t see  “You’re so good”.

 

Thanks to the staff in Banagher Healthcare Practice, to the Emergency Department and Brosna ward staff at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore who cared for Rita. 

 

Thanks to those who travelled to the Eliza Chapel of Rest on Monday, 26th August, and to everyone who came to the funeral mass on Tuesday, 27th.  Thank you to cousins, family friends, work colleagues, to those who travelled from around the country and from the UK, to those who contacted us to express their sympathy and for the numerous gestures of kindness received. 

 

Thank you to those who called to family members, who sent sympathy cards, mass cards, flowers, made phone calls and for the meaningful tributes online, they have been a great source of comfort at this lonely time.  Thanks to all the visitors Rita had, especially in the last few years in the Eliza Lodge N.H., Thank you to the neighbours who paid their respects on the roadside in Belmont on the final journey to High Street.  Thank you Fr. Pat Kiernan who visited Rita regularly and for ministering to her in her final days, to Fr. Peter Burke who celebrated Rita’s funeral mass and thanks for the beautiful music and singer and to all those who assisted at the funeral.    

 

A special thanks to Joe Grennan, undertaker for professionalism and compassion carrying out Rita’s funeral arrangements.  Thank you to the gravediggers and to High St. Community Hall and the wonderful volunteers who gave their time after the funeral.   

 

As it is impossible to thank each person individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our gratitude and know that your support is greatly appreciated.
