Rita’s family, husband Michael, children Niamh, Barry, Orla, and Thomas, in laws and adored grandchildren wish to thank all the people who generously sympathised with us on Rita’s peaceful passing on August 30th, 2024.

We would like to sincerely thank those who came to our home to attend the wake, and who attended the service and burial.

Thanks to our friends, extended family and wonderful neighbours who brought food, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, enrolments, and floral tributes. We have taken great comfort from all the messages received by letter, social media, R.I.P. and in person. The reminiscences of a happy and caring life that impacted so many has softened our blow. We are also truly humbled by the scale and depth of feeling in the condolences by customers of Castle pharmacy, Waterford – Rita’s former place of work - take our thanks please as Rita’s reciprocation.

Thanks to Rita’s children’s colleagues for their kindness, flexibility, and support during this difficult time, it will not be forgotten.

The Beacon Hospital, Dublin showed great care, compassion, and love to Rita during her time there. She very much appreciated this and we say thanks to the consultants, doctors, nurses, multidisciplinary team, and all staff. Thanks to Dr. Mary O’Gorman for her professional care and friendship to Rita over the years. Thanks to the staff of Castle Pharmacy, Waterford who managed Rita's pharmacy needs. Thanks to Michael and Paul of Nano physio for their kindness and care of Rita.

Faith was very important to Rita in her life, Our Lady, St. Martin, and St. Rita were special to her.  We thank God for Rita’s happy and fulfilled life. Thanks to the priests, nun and eucharistic minister who gave great consolation during Rita’s final days at the Beacon hospital. Thanks to Fr. Willie Dalton for his prayerfulness over the rosary, removal, funeral, and burial. The funeral Mass was made memorable for us by Fr. Dalton and Fr. Dermot Ryan. Thanks to Cyril Murphy pianist, Claudia Boyle soprano, Sokol Koka cellist and Rita’s grandson Sean for the beautiful music throughout the mass.

Thanks to the nuns in Glencairn for their many prayers for Rita.
