RONNIE (ROGER) HERLIHY

 RONNIE (ROGER) HERLIHY

Greenhills Court and formerly of Cove Street, Cork City, Cork

As we lovingly remember Ronnie on his First Anniversary, his wife Anne, daughter Ciara, son Daniel, sister Mary and niece Avril would like to thank all of our relatives, friends and neighbours who sympathised with us following our sudden loss. We wish to thank those who attended the funeral, those who gave so much care and support to us, those who shared lovely stories and memories of Ronnie’s life, humour and kindness and those who sent cards and floral tributes and made charitable donations to the Mercy Foundation.

We are truly grateful for the many friendships formed with Ronnie throughout his life - to his friends in the South Parish Historical Society and the 'Flying Column', to his friends at work in Kenny Bros and Hartnett & Son, to Ashton School where Ronnie taught local history, to the staff at Cork City Library where Ronnie spent many happy hours researching and writing, and to all those who made connections with Ronnie through a shared love of Cork.

Thank you also to Fr Billy O'Sullivan and Fr Eoin Whooley, for a lovely Mass in the South Parish Church, to the staff at Fordes Funeral Home on the South Gate Bridge for their kindness, to Justyne of Cork Flower Studio, and to Mike O’Riordan for the music. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude during this difficult time in our lives.

And to Ronnie - for being the best husband and father we could ever have wanted, for making our home a happy place for so many years, for everything.

You were so loved by us, and always will be.

"And magnificently we will float,

into the mystic"
