As we lovingly remember Rose on her first anniversary, her sons Sean, Ronnie and Michael, her daughters Maura, Eileen, Anne, Bernadette, Patricia and Betty together with her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law and extended family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with us, on our sad loss.
Our sincere gratitude to Fr Gallagher for celebrating a most meaningful funeral Mass, for his kind words which were of great comfort to us, and for his prayers at the graveside. Thanks also to Danny Guinan for his assistance in the Church. To those who showed solidarity by remaining outside the Church for the funeral Mass, those who lined the route and attended the cemetery, at an incredibly challenging time, your presence meant a lot to us, and we know that Mam would have appreciated it.
Thanks also to Fr Liam Farrell from Moate parish for visiting Maura's house to pray with us and administer the Last Rites to Mam and for his further attendance on the morning of the funeral. To Mam's grandniece for her beautifully haunting music and singing in the Church….Denise, you made the Mass particularly special, and we thank you most sincerely.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who offered us words of comfort, sent us condolences, sympathy cards and letters, Mass cards and Enrolments, floral tributes and charitable donations.
Our sincere thanks to Dr Aisling McMahon and Dr Isabelle Fallon, nurses Anne and Pascaline together with Mary, to Public Health Nurses Angela and Geraldine and Pharmacist Yvonne Martyn and staff for their excellent care and attention to Mam over the years. Thank you to Nurse Helen Moloney, Dr Patrick Murphy and the nursing staff at Tullamore Hospital, who also cared for her over many years. A special thank you to Nicola, Aoife and their colleagues, the Public Health Nurses in Athlone, who attended her weekly in the last year of her life. We also wish to sincerely thank Palliative Care Nurse Antoinette O'Brien, who was a great help and comfort to us on Mam's last night in this world.
Finally, our thanks to Colm Dooley Undertaker, who carried out the funeral in a helpful and caring manner and to the gravediggers, who carefully prepared Mam's final resting place.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that all will accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions and Rose's First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated as soon as the restrictions allow.
Mam, life is not measured by the years you lived
But by the love you gave
And the things you did
A loving smile, a heart of gold
These are the memories we tenderly hold.
Sleep softly now in your eternal home.
