 Ross Mealiff

Clones, Monaghan / Cavan

We, Kate, James & Hannah,  would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who supported and sympathised with us on the heartbreaking loss of Ross.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and relatives who visited our home, attended the wake and the Funeral Mass and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who travelled long distances, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters and messages of sympathy and online condolences, we are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received.

Our sincere thanks to Fr Jim Moore & Fr Vincent Finnegan for the love and support shown to Ross during his illness and for their kindness to us over the last number of weeks.  Thank you to Fr Jim for celebrating a very special and moving funeral Mass, it was a very personal and a fitting tribute to Ross.  To Fr Vincent Finnegan, Fr Macartan Mc Quaid, Fr Brian Elhinney, Fr Kevin Fay, Fr Brian D’arcy and Fr Stephen Joyce who concelebrated the Mass.

Thank you to the Tully’s for the beautiful music and singing during the Mass along with Nathan Carter and Patrick Feeney, it was very special.

To those who cared for Ross, particularly the staff at the Oncology unit in the Mater private hospital, Dublin.  To Prof John Mc Caffrey and the staff of St Elizabeth’s ward for their kindness to Ross.  To the Cavan/Monaghan Palliative care team, the Irish Cancer Society and Dr Deirdre Smyth Moran for their dedication and care.

A special thank you to Fabiola Martin, Martin Funeral Directors and to Finnegans Crematorium Cavan for their support and professional services.

To Ross’ second family, the staff and colleagues of Hotel Kilmore who supported us all throughout Ross’ illness and who served refreshments at our home in such a professional manner throughout the wake.

To Clones GAA, for taking care of the transport arrangements to and from our home and for managing the traffic over the wake days.

To those who provided a Guard of Honour, Hotel Kilmore staff, Clones GAA, Cavan/Monaghan Gardai, Clones Credit Union, Irish Hotel Federation & Largy College.  To the local businesses and neighbours who stood in silence and respect for Ross’ final journey, we are profoundly grateful to you all.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.

Ross’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 5th November, at 11.30am in Sacred Heart Church, Clones.
