Mary, Tommy, Catherine and the extended Hayes family would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the recent loss of our beloved husband and father Thomas.
To our wonderful neighbours, relatives and friends who called to our home, brought food and assisted in any way, we appreciate your help and support. Our thanks to all who attended our home, the removal, funeral Mass and burial. Many travelled long distances to be with us for which we are truly grateful. Thanks to all those who phoned, sent Mass cards, seraphic Mass enrolments, floral tributes and messages of condolences.
We express our sincere gratitude to Fr. Dan Woods P.P. and co-celebrants, Fr. Pat O'Gorman, Fr. Michael Kennedy, Fr. Tom Egan and Fr. James O’Donoghue for the lovely funeral Mass. Thanks to the sacristan Pauline Keane, altar servers Hazel and Zara Maher. Special thanks to Denis O'Connell for his beautiful singing and Chris O’Brien’s lovely accordion playing which added a special touch with Tom’s favourite music.
Thanks to the doctors, nurses and care assistants of Medical 1 Nenagh Hospital, Hospital of Assumption, Thurles and Milford Palliative Care Team who cared for Tom and enabled his return home for his final months. Your guidance, kindness and support were invaluable to us. Sincere gratitude to night nurse Kay for her empathy and unwavering support in Tom’s final days which brought us all great comfort.
A very special thanks to Tom’s home help team Noreen O’Connell, Bernie Quigley, Majella Griffin and Edel who each brought much happiness and many laughs to Tom’s final months along with their diligent care. To Dr. Paul Ryan, Dr. David Millman and all at The Premier Health Clinic, thank you for your support and kindness to Tom over the last number of years. We also express our deep gratitude to Nicky and all the kind staff at Mockler's Chemist Thurles for their exceptional care, support and advice over the years but especially over this last year.
Special thanks to all at Whites Funeral Directors for taking care of the arrangements with such professionalism, dignity and attention to detail. Many thanks to those who prepared Tom’s final resting place which was beautifully accompanied by Bernie Quigley's singing as he was laid to rest.
Thanks to Kinnane’s of Upperchuch Catering for the beautiful meal provided to all in attendance and to the community hall committee for the use of their facilities over the two days.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. Please know that each of you helped us get through this exceptionally trying time. The holy sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
Tom's Month's Mind Mass will take place in St. Patrick's Church, Kilcommon, on Saturday, the 6th of May, at 8pm.
