 Willie Kavanagh

Clondalkin, Dublin / Sandymount, Dublin

The family of the late Willie Kavanagh would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us following the huge loss of a much loved husband, Dad, Grandad, great-Grandad, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend to all.

We will forever be grateful to Brian McElroy and all Dad's colleagues/friends, especially Eric, Brian and David who took such good care of him, and us. He got the send off we think he deserved but could never have come close to achieving. To all the office staff/friends, Susan and the musicians for the beautiful music and singing.

Thank you to Fr. Hugh for the beautiful funeral Mass and for his support which was invaluable to Dad and us.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the medical staff in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold's Cross, especially the staff from St Gabriel’s Ward, Rowlagh Clinic and BlueBirds Homecare, with a special mention to Marion, we couldn’t have got through it without you all.

A huge thanks to all who brought food to the house and supported us in every way. We are very grateful to everyone who sent Mass and sympathy cards and flowers, for all the phone calls & texts & those who paid tribute through social media (RIP.ie). A huge thank you to all who donated to Our Lady’s Hospice.

We would like to thank our lovely neighbours and friends for the beautiful send off from Rowlagh Park.

Thanks to those who attended the funeral, joined the Mass via Absent Friends webcam & lined the funeral route through Clondalkin.

Thank you to Newlands Cross for preparing Dad's final resting place, also to the piper who lead us into the graveyard. Thank you to the undertakers who provided the guard of honour, he would have loved that.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our gratitude and heartfelt thanks, Dad would have been so proud.

Willie's first anniversary Mass will be held on Saturday, 7th August, at 6pm in Rowlagh Church.
