A tribute to Delia

Delia headed for Dublin in her teens after a happy childhood in cork one of four children.She enjoyed many years at I.C.I Sth Frederick St. Sunny days at the I.C.I. show house in County Wicklow (Halcyon days). She met her lifelong friend Veronica Mahon at I.C.I .

Delia married at Haddington Road in the shortest of mini dresses, nothing if not stylish. She lived in Killiney and later moved as John's work location changed to Balbriggan.

Althea, her only child arrived in 1980 great joy. Many happy years followed, holidays abroad and walking weekends in the Nire Valley. Delia loved her job in car sales at Sweeney & Forte Clontarf Road.

In later life sadly Alzheimer's claimed Delia's wonderful wit and joyful spirit. She moved to live with Althea & Francis in Aughavas where they cared for her selflessly.

We are heartbroken for Althea, Francis, Eliza & John. Delia was generous,witty and very stylish. We will miss her forever.
