The death has occurred peacefully of Mattie Hetherton, Brendan Behan Court, Dublin 1 and formerly Lurganboy, Virginia, Co. Cavan, peacefully at St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown on 6 April 2021. Predeceased recently by his brother Mossie and his brothers Breen and Jack. Deeply regretted by his son Peter, his sisters and brothers - Eilish (Carroll), Liam, Mickey, Cait (Hughes), Margaret (Cullen), Jimmy and Bridie (Brady), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, his Aunts, his Uncles, his good friends and especially his friend Declan and extended family.

Rest In Peace.

Remains reposing at Matthews Funeral Home until removal on Thursday departing at 1.15 pm, via Dunancory Bridge , County Bridge  and Lurganboy, to arrive at St. Bartholemew's Church, Munterconnaught for 2 o'clock Funeral Mass, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to St. Francis Hospice.

 

The Hetherton family would like to thank you all for your kindness and support at this time. In particular they would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and dedication of the staff in The Mater Hospital Dublin and St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

 

In compliance with current Covid 19 guidelines, Mattie's funeral Mass will be restricted to family members only. People are invited to form a guard of honour, if they so wish to, along the route of the funeral cortege from Matthews Funeral Home, Virginia via Dunancory Bridge and Lurganboy to St. Bartholomew's Church, as a mark of respect. For those who cannot attend due to restrictions, please feel free to leave a message in the condolence section at the bottom of the page.
