Aidan Carey

Aidan Carey, 12 Seaside, Belmullet, Co. Mayo and formally of Bridge Road, Belmullet peacefully at the Aras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet in the presence of his loving family on 19th January 2026.

Predeceased by his parents Mike and Eileen, brother Des, nephews Michael and Ian McNulty and Brian McCann, also remembering Stephen Walsh (Leah’s partner) and brothers in law John McNulty, Jim McCann and Roy Hubble.

Beloved father of Michelle (Westport), Joanne (Claregalway, Co. Galway), Ciara (Knocknacarra, Galway), Dean (London) and their mother Anne and his adored grandchildren Leah, Ellie, Daniel, Kate, Éabha, Jack, Isla and Anna. Aidan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, his sons in law Seamus and Mark, brothers Percy (U.K.) and Cyril (Belmullet), sisters Dolores (U.K.), Anna (Belmullet) and Geraldine (Belmullet), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, the Deane Family, godchildren, relatives, kind neighbours, many friends and the kind staff at the Áras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects to Aidan on Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm at the residence of his brother Cyril Carey at Bridge Road, Belmullet (Eircode – F26 Y437). Aidan will lie in repose at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet on Thursday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock. Funeral will arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Belmullet on Friday afternoon for Funeral Mass at 2 o’clock followed by burial in Tarmoncarra Cemetery.
