Aidan McDermott

Drumcondra, Dublin / Kilmovee, Mayo

Aidan (52) is survived by his wife Ciara, mother Mary, brother Gerard and his wife Sandra and in particular will be sadly missed by his nephews Cian and Liam. Aidan is also survived by his uncle Daniel McDermott, aunts Teresa Keane and Mary Hanley and her sons and daughter-in-laws: Michael and Noreen, John and Pauline, Peter and Jenny and their families. The extended McDermott and Keane families mourn Aidan’s absence alongside that of his dad PJ McDermott, uncles Michael and Francie Keane, uncle-in-law Fergus Hanley and all the earlier generations.

 

Aidan’s parents-in-law Michael and Kathleen Lavin, sisters-in-law and their husbands Emer Lavin and Liam Blake, Derbhile and Bobby Gec and brother- in-law Brian and his wife Emer, nieces and nephews-in law, Orla Blake, Sonya Blake, Caoimhe Lavin, Bobby Lavin, Ellie Lavin and Madeline Gec and the extended Lavin and McCluskey families are saddened by Aidan’s death.

 

Aidan always appreciated the love of all his friends, young and old, in Dublin, Mayo and further afield.

 

Aidan’s family are eternally thankful for the gifts of health and care he received from all the staff of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, especially the Oncology Haematology Unit, St Vincent’s Ward and St Bernards Ward, and to the teams at Calderwood Family Practice, Calderwood Pharmacy, HSE Dublin North Community Staff and St Francis Hospice in Raheny.

 

Aidan's family and friends are welcome to attend the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand, Dublin, D03 EC52 from 4pm to 7pm on Monday 6th April 2026. Aidan’s Funeral will be held at 11.30am on Tuesday April 7th 2026 in the Church of St Vincent de Paul, Marino, Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, D09 KN83. Burial afterwards in Dardistown Cemetery
