Aideen O'Callaghan

The death has occurred of

Aideen O'Callaghan

Carrigtwohill, Cork / Midleton, Cork

Aideen O’Callaghan passed away peacefully on the 18th of September 2023, aged 44 years, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on the 14th of June 1979 in Carrigtwohill.

Aideen is survived by her children Jordan, Reece, Jay and their father Garvan Lynch. Aideen’s mother Deirdre, brother Feidhlim, sisters Rebecca and Sally, neices Layla and Penny and her nephew Tomás. She is predeceased by her father Adrian and her brother Brendan and remembered by her many friends.

Aideen worked in various jobs throughout her life, but Trabolgan Holiday Centre stands out, as it is where she met Garvan, the father of their children.

Aideen was the biological mother of three. However, many people considered her their surrogate mother. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost to her children and a headstrong woman on her own, as a mother she can only be described as an ‘Iron Giant’. She stood 20 feet tall and would protect her children with immense passion and steadfastness. Like a Giant, she performed her final task to shield us from elongated pain.

Friends wishing to honour Aideen are invited to make a donation in her memory to Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, for their incredible work and dedication with Aideen & family during this surreal time. We cannot thank them enough, not only for the care of our mother but for their kindness and attention to detail with everyone.
