Alan passed away peacefully in the Galway Hospice, comforted in his final hours by his loving partner and best friend Judith and his nieces and friend Katie, Kate, Johanna and Nik.
Alan will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by the extended Finney family in Ireland and abroad, including siblings Cathy, Maureen and Brian, as well as his neighbours and friends and by Mariela, Esperanza and Grace who brought him so much joy.
He is predeceased by his parents Catherine and William Finney and his three sisters Hilda, Valerie and Irene.

Funeral arrangements:
Sunday 1st February, 2026
Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Monday 2nd February, 2026
A Committal Service will take place at Shannon Crematorium at 2..00 p.m.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Alan to the Galway Hospice. (see below)
Parking and entrance to the funeral parlour:
Please approach the funeral parlour on foot from Fr. Burke Park.
Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road.
Parking restrictions are in place on William Street West due to ongoing roadworks. No parking on Munster Avenue.
Car parks within walking distance of the Parlour: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
