Alan McCarthy

Alan passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him most , in the extraordinary care of Marymount Hospice, Cork, following a long illness which he bore with unwavering strength, dignity and grace.

Dr. Alan McCarthy Ph. D. was the adored husband of Sarah (neé Ryan), beloved son of Pat And Berna (neé Lynch), and the most wonderful brother to Lyn, Emer, Don and his twin, Barry.

Alan will be missed by his brothers-in-law Stephen McLoughlin and Donal Murphy, Don's fiancee Aileen Luttrell and Barry's partner Aisling Dwyer, parents-in-law Dom and Marie Ryan (Bulgaden Co. Limerick), sisters-in-law Orla and Maria, brother-in-law Shane, and their spouses Kieran, Shane and Joanne. Alan was also a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews Olan, Cara, Sive, Iseult, Rossa, Darragh, Killian, Éabha, Clodagh, Ciara, Riain and godson Caelan, all of whom brought Alan so much joy and shared his sense of fun.

Alan's family, colleagues and all those too numerous to mention, to whom Alan was such a loyal friend, will miss him more than words can convey.

Reposing at O'Malley Funeral Home's New Line Charleville (P56T184) on Tuesday (Aug. 20th.) from 5 pm until 8 pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 1 pm in Holy Cross Church Charleville (Alan's Mass will be live streamed and available to view By clicking Here). Funeral after to the local Cemetery.
