Passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family.

 

Predeceased by his wife Sue, son Nigel and his siblings.

 

Sadly missed by his children Andrew, Tia and Kevin, grandchildren Cullen, Bree, Jonathan, Robert, Jacob, Carrie, Emma, Jordan, Isabella, Millie, Henry and Sam, daughters-in-law, son in law, carer Keren, his dog Charlie and many extended family and friends.

 

Alan was a life-long Quaker and an avid educator at Newtown School Waterford, where his legacy and his wisdom passed to many a student over his years of teaching Biology, PE and swimming will live on.

 

May Alan Rest in Peace.

 

As Alan has donated his body to science (to a Medical School), a memorial will be held for him at Newtown School, Waterford at 2:00pm on Saturday the 21st February 2026.

 

Any donations in lieu of flowers can be given to either to the Irish Cancer Society or the Samaritans

 

The family would like to thank the Waterford Palliative Care Team for all they did in keeping Alan comfortable and peaceful. Thank you also to those involved in his extensive medical care over the years.
