The death has occurred of Albert Apfelstedt, Main Street, Virginia, County Cavan, and formerly of Hamburg, Germany, peacefully at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Veronica, his daughter Fionnula, his brother Gösta and his sister Christiane. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son Axel - Kilian, his daughter Eilish, his sister Ortrun, his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58), on Sunday evening, 28th December, from 5.00pm until prayers at 7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11.00am in Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia, followed by burial in St. Killian’s Cemetery, Mullagh.
