Alice Downing

Moyola Park, Galway and formerly of Killeen, Tynagh, Co. Galway.

27 July, 2025, peacefully at the Galway Hospice.

Pre-deceased by her parents Alice and Joseph, and sisters Joan (O'Brien), Móna (McGuigan), Teresa (Ruane) and baby brother Denis.

Alice will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, cousins Jackie, Denis and Kathleen, her dear neighbours and friends, and former colleagues at the University of Galway.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the compassion and dignity shown to Alice by the staff of the Galway Hospice and all those who cared for her.

In accordance with her wishes, Alice's remains will be donated to medical science.

A Celebration of Life Service for Alice will be held in the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor's Hill, Galway, H91 H29F on Friday 8th August at 3pm.
