Anne METHOT

Anne Methot, formerly of Wexford, Ireland, died peacefully on July 21st in her 92nd year, at Agecare Westbury care home. Devoted wife of the late Gerry Methot. Predeceased by her siblings Jim, Robert, and Matt Byrne. Anne will be sadly missed by the Methot and Byrne families including her nephews and nieces: Seán, Kevin, Noel, Mattie and Francis, Catherine, Robert, and Margaret and extended family and very dear friends. Anne is predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Catherine (née Gahan) Byrne of Ballinakill, Courtown, Gorey, Co. Wexford, Ireland. Anne moved to Toronto, Canada and worked for many years in the Queensway General Hospital. Anne was a Counsellor with the City of Etobicoke for a term. Anne cared devotedly for her brother Jim in later years and was very involved in her local Catholic Church, the Nativity of Our Lord, and later St. Clements. Anne really enjoyed her holidays in Ireland and catching up with family and friends and loved having people out to Canada.

The family are very grateful to the staff and carers who so kindly tended to Anne at the Kingsway Retirement Home (2012 to 2018) and at Age Care Westbury (2018 to 2024) and friends who supported Anne so much, and in her later years in suffering with Alzheimer’s, in particular Breda Walshe and Jo Byrne.

May she rest forever in God’s peace.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Parish, 409 Markland Drive, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10am. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
