ANNE MICHELLE MITCHELL 1958 - 2024
A native of Belfast, Co. Down, Anne was a long-time immigration attorney with her own practice in the Washington, D.C. area. She passed away peacefully at the age of 66 in hospice care on Tuesday 4 June at Inova Alexandria Hospital. Anne is survived by her husband, Conor, stepdaughter, Natalia Howard, and her sister, Mary Davies. While she was born in Belfast (on January 25, 1958), Anne studied at Trinity College, Dublin, where she earned a BA and JD. She was later awarded an MA (Oxon).
She passed the New York bar exam at the first attempt! Later, Anne founded her own practice - Mitchell & Dunn - beginning in 1989. As well as running a thriving law firm, Anne was a board member of Solas Nua, and was an enthusiastic supporter of Irish cultural events in the D.C. area, as well as broader Irish-American business and arts organisations.
