Anne Warhurst

The death has occurred of Anne Warhurst, late of Westport Quay, peacefully on 20th March 2025, aged 100. Anne and her husband, Joe (R.I.P.), moved to Westport from the U.S. in their 90s to be close to their only child and son-in-law. Joe and Anne could often be seen together on their daily walks around the Quay. Anne, who came from a long line of educators, was an avid sailor in her younger days and traveled all around America and beyond. She was a kind, gentle soul, with an innate sense of taste and style, always positive and with a ready wit.

Following Joe’s death in 2022, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Bill Galloway, by whom she will be deeply missed. She will likewise be missed by her wider family, many devoted friends, and kind neighbours. Her family is grateful to all the healthcare professionals who helped her in her final months, especially the wonderful and caring staff of Ballinamore House Nursing Home, Kiltimagh.

Reposing in Navin’s Funeral Home, Westport, on Saturday, 22nd March, from 5:30-7p.m. A private Cremation will follow.
