Arkadiusz (Arek) Kijewski

Arkadiusz (Arek) passed away peacefully on the 22nd August after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband to Viola and loving father to Monika, Alina and Aleks as well as grandfather to Jordan and Carolina.  Arek was born on the 1st April 1970 and was originally from Koszalin in Poland but moved to Ireland in 2006 where he has resided for 14 years. 

Arek was a man of strong character who over the years had a wide variety of professions from working in South Africa at the age of 19 to building motorways in Ireland, to eventually driving on those roads as a bus driver. Everything he did was in support of his family, who were there fighting for him until the very end.

In keeping with HSE and Public Health guidelines on public gatherings, a private Mass will be celebrated for the repose of Arek's Soul, with immediate family only at his home. 

Arek will leave his house at 6pm on Thursday for private cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin. Friends and neighbours are invited, if they wish, to stand at their gates or line the route from his estate to the old Loughrea bypass as a mark of support to the family. Please maintain the respect of social distance for each other as directed by HSE and Public Health.
