Arthur Noel Reynolds

Blackrock, Dublin

(Blackrock, Co Dublin, and Norway, lifetime subeditor and former night editor of The Irish Times, founding editor of The Irish Skipper and Ireland Afloat, sculptor, sailor, storyteller, adventurer, radio contributor)  March 5, 2023. Peacefully, in his 94th year, at Rosepark, Blackrock surrounded by his devoted carers and friends. Predeceased by his wives Stephanie, Mairead Dunlevy and Borghild Lieng and his sister Dorothy. Fondly missed by his son Fintan, stepdaughter Anne (Childs), grandchildren Jessica and John (England), Katherine and Stephanie (Canada), godson Cian (Siggins), and his many friends in Ireland and Norway. 

 

Arthur will be remembered for his wit, wisdom, his love of the sea, his mastery of the newspaper headline and the epitaph he refashioned:

“Pass on by, Death horseman,  Cast a life, On cold eye.”

 

We greatly appreciate the support of Rosepark and his wonderful care team. A Humanist Ceremony and celebration of his life at 9.45am on Wednesday, March 15th in The Garden Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W.
