ASHA KOCHAREKAR
(née SALITA ALARNÉMCAR)

Kocharekar (née Salita Alarnémcar) Asha, 9th April 2021 passed away peacefully in her eightieth year at the family home in Dublin. She was born on April 29, 1940 to Mr. & Mrs. G.P. Alarnémcar (Halarnkar) of Salvador-Do-Mundo, Bardez, Goa, Estado Novo (Portugal) now in Goa, India. Beloved wife of the late S.S. Kocharekar (m.1964) and was widowed at the age of 56 years. Sadly her bout with severe cancer followed by a long-term battle with various chronic illnesses over the past decade had robbed her of physical strength in the recent years, yet she pressed on with dignity and bravery throughout.

Salita (as she was still known by the family) was an aficionado of Goan cuisine and an excellent seamstress. She was fond of the theater (Ou concanim Teatro) Konkani (Concanim) folk songs and philately.

She is survived by her 4 remaining siblings in India and the US, her son Abie, daughter-in-law, her grandchildren Alistair and Eabha (who were especially dear to her) as well as a number of nieces & nephews within her extended family which is scattered across the globe. She will be greatly missed by all of them.
