Ben O'CONNOR

O’CONNOR, Ben (Dundrum) 29th December 2022. Ben passed away peacefully at St Vincent’s University Hospital. His wife Nataliya and brothers Philip, Daniel and Martin were by his side throughout. He will be deeply missed by all his family and his wonderful daughter Daisy.

Ben was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a condition he bore with incredible courage and determination. Ben had a double lung transplant over twenty years ago and a number of subsequent operations. Ben’s life was not defined by his illness but by his joyful approach to life and the happiness he brought to so many people. Ben lived a full and active life. Ben loved being part of the coaching team at Rosemount Mulvey FC where his cherished daughter Daisy plays.

Ben was deeply loved and an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He will always live in our hearts.

Nataliya and Ben’s family would like to sincerely thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Beacon Dialysis Unit, The Mater Hospital and St. Vincent’s University Hospital for the wonderful care that they gave to Ben.

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Monday (2nd January) afternoon from 2 pm to 5 pm.  Removal on Tuesday morning (3rd January) to the Church of the Holy Cross, Dundrum for Funeral Mass at 10.30 am followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.  Those of you who will be unable to attend Ben's Mass, it can be viewed live on this link https://www.dundrumparish.com/webcam/.
