The death has occurred of Bernadette McDermott (née O’Keefe), 5 Drumnavanagh, Farnham Road, Cavan Town, Thursday January 29th 2026, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents John-Thomas and Annie, her beloved husband Jim and her brothers Gabriel and James. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Gerry (Patricia)and daughter Anne (James), her adored grandchildren Meghan, Hannah, Rachael, Sarah and Caitlin, all her extended family, good neighbours, many friends, and her devoted carers who cared for her with such kindness and compassion. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Friday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Bernadette’s Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 11.30am in the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim , Cavan with burial afterwards in Cullies Cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on the parish website at www.cavantownparish.com/webcam. House private at all times please.
