Clerkin Funeral Directors regret to announce that the death has occurred of Bernard (Benny) McAree, Canal Street, Monaghan Town, Tuesday 12th August 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family at home. Predeceased by his brother John and his sister Minnie Finnegan.

Benny will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 60 years Mary, his children, Bernard (Bernie), Sinéad (Blair Cunningham), Christopher, his adored grandchildren Ciarán, Eimear, Áine, Leah and Michael, his brother Jimmy, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Benny will be repose at Clerkins Funeral Home Milltown, Monaghan (H18YF22) on Thursday the 14th and Friday the 15th of August from 5pm until 8pm. Benny's funeral procession will arrive to St Macartan’s Cathedral on Saturday morning for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Latlurcan cemetery. Funeral Mass will be live streamed and can be viewed by clicking the "Funeral Service" button below. Family flowers only please.
