BURKE (Cork) On 9th December 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the staff at Cork University Hospital, BERNARD (DANIEL), Shanakiel and late of UCC. Dearly beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee Fay), loving and devoted dad to Irene, Bernadette and Patrick, adored grandfather of Amy, Leanne, Aoife, Niamh, Abbey and Jack and dearest brother of the late Finbarr and Teddy.

Sadly missed by his loving daughters, son, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Linda, son-in-law Hugh, sister-in-law Patsy, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, especially Betty Moylan and Pat Mulcahy.

Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Wednesday (10th December) from 2.00pm, family in attendance at 4.00pm with Prayers at 5.00pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday (11th December) at 11.00am in St. Mary’s on the Hill Church, Knocknaheeny. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Curraghkippane.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the CUH who took very good care of Bernard over his last few days.
