Bernard Collins

Collins (Castlehaven): On September 22nd, 2025, unexpectedly, following a long illness bravely borne, Bernard, much loved husband and best friend of Fiona (née Brereton), and adored father of Daniel, Richard, Emma and Kevin, and son of the late Daniel and Margaret Collins, Shepperton, Skibbereen.

Deeply regretted by his heart-broken wife and family, cherished grand-children Ava, Harry, Darragh, Pippa, Isobelle, Stella and Olivia, dearly loved brother of Donal, Dinty, Christy, Francis, Anne, Anthony and Vincent, daughters-in-law Aisling, Ashling, Elizabeth, son-in-law Luke, mother-in-law Stella, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends, especially his good friend John O’Donovan, and the members and players of Castlehaven G.A.A. Club.

Reposing in Shanahans Funeral Home, Leap on Thursday 25th September from 5pm to 7pm followed by Prayers. Bernard's Funeral cortége will arrive at St. Barrahanes Church, Castlehaven at 11am on Friday, 26th September followed by Requiem Mass at 12noon which will be live-streamed on the Funeral Service link below. Burial immediately afterwards to Castlehaven New cemetery.

Bernards family want to extend their everlasting gratitude to his G.P. Dr. Joan Lynch, the Nua Clinic, Bantry, to Professor Derek Power and his team at the Cork University Hospital.
